Our client was seeking to save significant payroll costs and streamline down to a considerably slimmer organisational structure. This required reducing payroll by over 170 roles to the minimum timescales allowed by statutory consultation requirements.
Having worked closely with the client to design the future business structure, we led and implemented a detailed step-by-step fully-compliant redundancy process. This included scheduling and leading all formal collective and individual consultations, the issuing of all required letters to employees, the recording of consultations and implementing amendments to payroll.
No grievances or tribunal claims were raised before, during or after the process. The client achieved annual payroll savings in excess of £5m. Costs to our client were between 0.5% and 1% of the in-year payroll savings.
